The submarine owned by the navy is still under maintenance and it will be seen at the navy soon, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.
He said it was related to the photos of a submarine operating in Yangon River, which were spread around in social media.
He added it may be an Indian submarine which is paying a visit to Myanmar.
“A war ship and a submarine from India will pay a visit to Myanmar,” he said.
The army will inform the public if the submarine is ready to be in service as they said before and its inauguration ceremony will be held exclusively, he said.
