State Counsellor visits Kayin power plant, wishes peace

State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, during her tour in Kayin State, attended the opening ceremony of 230 KV Mawlamyine-Myawaddy power grid (55.34  miles) and 230/66/11 KV 100 MVA Myawaddy main power grid station on March 19 and delivered an address.

"In Kayin State, peace is crucial. I wish it will be wonderful for Kayin State  getting electricity as well as  peace . Karen State had faced much internal conflicts and those that had suffered from it know most about the value of peace.  As of today, Myawaddy is getting electricity and I wish peace will full cover Karen State," said State Counselor.

Union Minister for Electricity, and Energy Win Khaing explained measures being taken for power plant projects. As there are new power grids, people can have electricity with reasonable prices. For illuminating in the country, the government has used more than Ks1000 billion. 

In future, power grid of 230 KV will connect Mawlamyine-Thanpyuzayat-Yay-Taninthayi region and electricity can be supplied to the area, according to Union Minister.
