State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi had a discussion with Rt. Hon Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand about bilateral relations at the Suntec Expo Convention Centre in Singapore on November 14.

Aung San Suu Kyi attending the 33rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Singapore met with Rt. Hon Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand.

During the meeting, Rt. Hon Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand mentioned that New Zealand was poised to be engaged in assisting the ways capable of solving problems as to Rakhine crisis taking place in Myanmar.

The two leaders had cordial discussions about bilateral relations. They exchanged views relating to promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation, recent developments in Rakhine State including the preparatory works for the repatriation process for the displaced persons and New Zealand’s assistance in building a harmonious society between two communities in the Rakhine State.

Present on the occasion were State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and Kyaw Tin, Minister for International Cooperation from Myanmar side and Rt. Hon Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand and high ranking officials of New Zealand government. 

Regarding the meeting, the official of New Zealand replied that New Zealand would provide assistance to the matters relating to the difficulties Myanmar facing and human right issue. Afterwards, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi attended the ASEAN-related summits on November 14.
