Vehicles had to line up at the fuel stations for a long time as some fuel stations in Yangon are unable to sell fuel, according to some vehicle owners and some drivers.

Since the afternoon of November 10, some fuel stations in Yangon were no longer able to sell fuel, some taxi drivers said.

“I couldn’t buy petrol since yesterday afternoon. I had to go to three or four fuel stations to get fuel. I couldn’t buy this morning either. I could fill fuel at the North Dagon petrol station but I had to queue for a long time,” said a taxi driver.

Petrol could not be bought till the morning of November 11 in some station, according to a car owner.

“When I phoned fuel stations yesterday evening for filling, they said no. This morning, I could fill the petrol and I had to line up for a long time. In the past, I could go whatever fuel station I wanted,” said a driver of the government office.

Today, gas prices in Yangon Region are Ks.2060 per litre for 92 Ron, Ks.2160 per litre for 95 Ron, Ks.2195 per litre for a diesel and Ks.2315 per litre for premium diesel.
