Six Myanmar towns among world’s hottest cities on May 9

Six towns of Myanmar are on the list of world cities with maximum temperature on May 9 (today), according to El Dorado Weather.

They are Chauk, Magway, Minbu, NyaungU, Toungoo and Pyay.

El Dorado Weather issues 15 world cities with maximum temperature daily, Myanmar’s town of Chauk topped the list today.

Chauk was ranked first with 45.6°C, Magway fifth with 44.3°C, Minbu eighth with 43.6°C, NyaungU ninth with 43.6°C, Toungoo tenth with 43.5°C and Pyay fourteenth with 43.3°C.

Other hottest cities are from Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Niger and Chad.

In April also, towns in upper Myanmar were on the list of the world’s hottest cities for three days in a row.

Port St Johns of South Africa topped the list of the world’s hottest cities announced on April 22. The city had 55.6°C while the Myanmar town of Chauk was ranked 11th with 42.9°C, according to El Dorado Weather.

On April 21, Niger’s city of became the world’s hottest city with 45.8°C, while Chauk was ranked third with 45.5°C and NyaungU eleventh with 44°C.   

On April 20, Chauk with 45°C topped the list of the world’s hottest cities, followed by NyaungU with 45°C.

According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in Myanmar, Zaungtu town in eastern Bago Region reached record high temperature in two days. Its temperature reached 42.6°C up from the former record of 42.5°C.
