Reports indicate that some residents in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area are trapped due to severe flooding, with emergency rescue assistance urgently required.

Flooding in several villages has left people stranded on rooftops and trees, while some have been swept away by strong currents, according to social media requests for help.

Rising water levels in the Hsin Thay Creek and Paunglaung River have caused significant flooding in residential areas and villages across Zeyarthiri, Pobbathiri, and Pyinmana townships. 

Rescue efforts are still critically needed.

In Wetkone village, near the Bawthiri highway bus compound, residents are trapped and unable to escape due to the strong currents, with urgent appeals for assistance circulating on social media.

In Thagarset village in Pyinmana Township, people have sought refuge in schools and monasteries as floodwaters continue to rise. 

Emergency help is also needed in this area.

Other villages, including Tada-U, Kyun-U, Hsin Thay, Hantaw, Yonepin Saung and Touk Htain, have been similarly affected by the floods, leaving people stranded and calling for help.

In Zeyarthiri Township, Hsi Pin Gyi and Tha Pya Pin villages are experiencing severe flooding, with homes submerged, and urgent rescue operations are required.

Flooding has also been reported in Bayintnaung and Anawrahta wards of Tatkon Township, as well as in several villages in Pobbathiri Township.

The flooding is a result of continuous heavy rainfall from September 8 to 11, triggered by Typhoon Ragi in the South China Sea and a tropical storm in the central and northwest Bay of Bengal.

 Rising water levels in the Ngalaik and Hsin Thay Creeks, along with the Paunglaung River, have worsened the situation.
