A total of 12 staffs hired by local businessmen for security and disciplines are assigned at Chaungthar Beach starting from February 3, sources said.

The security staffs are trained in lifesaving skills as well as for the travelers in addition to enforcing security and discipline.

“The staffs are assigned for a whole year and they will be assigned for area development tasks in rainy season. We will form six groups and one group consists of five security staffs will assign at Aung Mingalar Kyun jetty. The other three staffs will assign at the road leading to the beach and each of the four staffs will assign at four places on a road leading to the beach. A supervisor will take charge of them at the office at the beach. Four policemen are assigned at the beach with rotation system. They are assigned from 6 am to 7 pm daily and later they will be assigned at night time,” said Kyaw Thu, administrator of Chaungthar.

Travellers criticized the authorities for water pollution in Chaungthar beach and the region government promoted Chaungthar village as a town and set development plans for the beach.
