The Tatmadaw regained control of Kyaukme town, where the school reopened on October 8, and 1,042 students are studying, according to sources.
The Tatmadaw regained control of Kyaukme town in northern Shan State and is carrying out rehabilitation activities such as providing security and necessary assistance to the public, reopening government administrative machinery such as offices, reopening schools for children to study, and reopening hospitals for public health care.
As part of this, No.1 Basic Education High School was reopened on October 8, and students are studying there. Enrollment is ongoing, with 836 additional students enrolling, bringing the total enrollment to 1,042 students.
The newly enrolled students will receive free textbooks, stationery and supplies and departmental officials provided necessary services.
In addition, the Department of Immigration and Population has provided household registration verification and national registration cards to local residents returning to Kyaukme.
In addition, security forces are conducting mine clearance work in departmental offices and public places in Kyaukme. For the health care of local residents, the Ministry of Health and the Tatmadaw have jointly opened a temporary hospital at Labamuni Chinese Temple in Kyaukme and are providing medical treatment. A total of 105 outpatients and two patients who require hospitalization are receiving necessary health care services.
