Member of the State Administration Council (SAC) Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and U Aung San Oo, the eldest son of General Aung San, attended the ceremony to mark the 77th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Bahan Township of Yangon on July 19.
Also present at the ceremony were SAC Members Mahn Nyein Maung and Dr Hmu Thang, Chief Justice of the Union U Thar Htay, Chairman of the Leading Committee on Organizing the 77th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Union Ministers U Maung Maung Ohn, U Myint Naung and Dr Thet Khaing Win, Organizing Committee Chairman of Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of the Yangon Command, deputy ministers, regional ministers, officials, families of martyr leaders and guests. The General cordially greeted families of martyr leaders.
Later, they laid the wreath in memory of General Aung San and martyrs. U Aung San Oo, the eldest son of General Aung San, family members of martyr leaders and representatives laid a wreath to pay tributes at the Mausoleum.
The Yangon Region government, representatives from registered political parties based in Yangon, heads of missions of foreign embassies to Myanmar, charges d’affaires ai, and resident representatives of UN agencies also laid wreaths at the Mausoleum to pay tributes.
