State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, arrived in Russia yesterday evening.
His visit to the Russian Federation is at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He departed from Nay Pyi Taw Military Airport in a special aircraft on the morning of March 3 for a state-level friendship visit.
Upon his arrival at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, he was welcomed by Russian Minister of Economic Development Mr. Maxim Reshetnikov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials. Myanmar’s Ambassador to Russia, U Thit Lin Ohn, and Russia’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Iskander Azizov, along with Myanmar’s Military Attaché Colonel Moe Kyaw, were also present. The Russian Federation's honor guard formally received the SAC chairman in line with their tradition for welcoming state leaders.
Following this, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a guard of honor, during which the national anthems of both Myanmar and Russia were played. He then observed the Russian Federation’s ceremonial military parade in his honor.
On March 4, the Myanmar Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his visit, discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, cooperation in economic and security matters, and other strategic partnerships between the two governments and their people.
Accompanying the Prime Minister are high-ranking officials, including Council Member and Joint Secretary General Senior General Ye Win Oo, Council Members Senior General Nyo Saw and Senior General Moe Aung, Union Ministers U Than Swe, Dr. Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, as well as Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win. Additionally, senior military officers, deputy ministers, and other key officials from the defense and administrative sectors are part of the delegation.
