The State Administration Council (SAC) issued Decree No. (44/2022) appointing U Myo Myint Oo as the Union Minister for Energy on August 5.

The decree states that the State Administration Council has appointed U Myo Myint Oo as the Union Minister for Energy in accordance with Article 419 of the Constitution.

The SAC formerly appointed U Aung Than Oo as the Union Minister for Electricity and Energy, and on May 2, 2022, he was allowed to retire from the position of Union Minister.

With the retirement of Union Minister U Aung Than Oo, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy was reorganized into the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Energy, and U Thaung Han was jointly appointed as the Union Minister for both ministries. Now a Union Minister has been appointed for the Ministry of Energy.
