Reform will not take place just because the government changes and that all are responsible for reform to take place, President Win told a crowd of civil servants at the town hall of Haka in Chin State, state-owned newspapers reported.

"All knows why I am meeting the people of Chin State here. All responsible officials are working in concert to establish a democratic federal union. When it comes to reform, it cannot take place just because government changes. All are responsible for reform," the President remarked.

The President, currently in Chin State, visited Zaytawin Teaching Monastery in Haka and met departmental personnel on February 21.

"Our country is in a transition period. In other words, we are marching towards democracy. There are some people who are worried about the reform initiated throughout the country. Reform is not an enemy; it is a good friend if applied systematically. Reform is not a thing that we have to fear," said Win Myint.

He called for all stakeholders to participate in reform process.

The President said in its reform, Myanmar's ultimate aim is to establish a democratic federal union, adding that democracy guarantees the citizens freedom, physical and metal security and happiness.

The President also visited and inspected Hsubon Airport construction site in Falam. He then  arrived back in Nay Pyi Taw through Kalay.
