Recognizing those who sacrificed their lives for changing political system form an important component for national reconciliation, said Ko Ko Gyi, Chairman of People’s Party.

The remarks of Ko Ko Gyi, one of the 88 Generation political figures, came from the ceremony to commemorate the 25 anniversary of the death of former colonel Sein Mya at Dhama Piya Monastery in Thingangyun Township on December 23.

Recognizing those who had sacrificed their lives for changing political system is an important component for national reconciliation, said Ko Ko Gyi, Chairman of People’s Party.

“The recognizing matter is very important. What we mention is national reconciliation. Everyone is always talking this word of national reconciliation. The importance of national reconciliation is vital. National reconciliation does not mean to reconcile with only those who beat us and killed us once. It means to reconcile with all sides, not two sides,” said  Ko Ko Gyi.

Sorrowful happenings occurred in the process of changing political system should not be forgiven in an easy manner. If we ignore it, our society won’t be a civilized one. Those worthy of honour should be valued. If so, our society will be a civilized one, said  Ko Ko Gyi.

The first-ever commemoration ceremony of the 25th Anniversary of the Death of Former Colonel Sein Mya was attended by those who were engaged in the 88 Uprising, those who were working with former colonel Sein Mya and some political activists.
