RCSS plans to send delegation to peace talks aimed at building a federal union and resolving the current political crisis

The Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS / SSA) will send a delegation to peace talks with the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, aiming to solve political situation, to build a federal union and to resolve the current political crisis.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), invited the leaders of the ethnic armed groups to hold peace talks on April 22.

The RCSS / SSA has announced that it will send a delegation to attend the talks, accepting an invitation for peace talks aiming to solve political situation, to build an equal and fully independent federal union and to resolve the current political crisis.

The RCSS / SSA said in a statement that the best way to resolve the current political crisis through dialogue is to build mutual trust.

The RCSS / SSA said in a statement that it firmly believes that only a federal union with full self-determination can bring about the desired reform of the people and the establishment of a peaceful, prosperous and modern nation.

Among the ethnic armed groups that have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS / SSA), Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), Karen National Union / Karen National Liberation Army-Peace Council (KNU / KNLA-PC), Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) and the New Mon State Party (NMSP) have registered to attend the meeting with Chairman of the State Administration Council.

Among the ethnic armed groups that have not yet signed the NCA, the United Wa State Army (UWSA), the National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA) and the Shan State Progressive Party / Shan State Army (SSPP / SSA) have registered to attend the talks.

The Karen National Union (KNU), the Chin National Front (CNF) and All Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF), which have signed the NCA and the Kachin Independence Organization (KIA) and the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), which has not yet signed the NCA, have stated that they will not attend the peace talks.
