Rain may reduce temperature in lower Myanmar: DMH

Rain may reduce temperature in lower Myanmar at the end of April due to whirlwind from the east, said Dr Kyaw Moe Oo, Director General of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

The whirlwind from the South China Sea is likely to enter Mon and Kayah states, Taninthayi, Yangon and Bago regions around April 24 and the clouds brought by the whirlwind may bring rain.

Prospect of low pressure area and depression in Bay of Bengal usually occurred at the end of April and early May and it can create rain.

According to ECMWF website, a low pressure area may form at the west of Bay of Bengal around April 26 and it may intensify into a depression.

If the low pressure area may occur, Myanmar may have rain. However low pressure areas occurred near equator region were weaken mostly and it needs time to have more specific forecast, he said.
