Proposal to appoint Min Thu as Union Minister for President Office submitted to Union Parliament

A proposal to appoint Deputy Minister Min Thu as Union Minister for President Office was submitted to Union Parliament on November 26.

Deputy Minister Min Thu was intended to be appointed as Union Minister for President Office which was left vacant in accordance with sub-section (C) of 232 of Constitution and the provisions prescribed in sub-section (B) of 12 of Union Government. The President Office sent a message to Union Parliament in order to seek approvals to appoint Deputy Minister Min Thu as Union Minister for President Office.

The Nov-29 Union Parliament will seek approvals from the parliament. Those wishing to object to the proposal to appoint Deputy Minister Min Thu as Union Minister for President Office may record names on an official list not later than November 28, said T Khun Myat, Speaker of Union Parliament.

The position of Union Minister for President Office was left vacant as Thaung Tun, Union Minister for President Office was assigned to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations as Union Minister.

Deputy Minister Min Thu is holding science degree of DSA and arts degree of Defence Studies. His wife is an advocate lawyer and he has two children.
