Porsche’s rental service launched in Tokyo, 1st in Asia

TOKYO (The Japan News/ANN) -  Porsche Drive - the Japanese arm of Porsche AG’s car rental service was launched in Tokyo on Friday.

Porsche AG’s Japanese arm launched its car rental service, Porsche Drive, in Tokyo on Friday, it announced Thursday.

 According to the company, Porsche Drive is its first official car rental service in Asia.

 Customers will need to make a reservation on its website and then visit the Toranomon Hills high-rise complex in Minato Ward, Tokyo, to pick up their car. Six cars, including the Cayman S and 911 Carrera GTS, are available.

 Customers will be able to choose from three types of rental periods — four hours, 24 hours and a weekend from 4 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Monday. The Cayman S, which is the least costly to rent, starts at ¥37,000 for four hours, rising to ¥47,500 for 24 hours and ¥95,000 for a weekend.

 After analyzing how the service is utilized here, Porsche aims to expand it to other cities.
