U.S based Orbis flying hospital will come to Myanmar in September, 2019 to provide eye care services, according to Ministry of Health and Sports.

Program manager from the Orbis flying hospital met with Union Minister for Health and Sports at Nay Pyi Taw on November 15 to provide better eye care services in Myanmar.

The Orbis flying hospital was first introduced to Myanmar in 1991 and since then, they arrived in Yangon six times and Mandalay three times. The Orbis international team provided treatments to patients in plane based program and hospital based program.

The advanced unit of the Orbis international team contacted Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital (Mandalay) in 2017 and the upcoming visit will be their second time visit.

The Orbis flying hospital will provide eye care services as well as other activities to assist to develop eye care services in Myanmar.
