SITTWE----Ongoing fighting in Rakhine State has displaced over 236,200 people, who are now facing difficult living conditions.

Those displaced persons are now staying across 168 IDPs camps while some are now living with their relatives in other places.

“We had collected the IDPs list aiming to help those. We already issued the IDPs list being recorded until November 2nd ,” said Secretary Zaw Zaw Tun from Rakhine Ethnics Congress(REC).

The collecting of IDPs list aims to know the difficulties and numbers of peoples who have troubles with ongoing clashes.

The REC urged the authorities to find the solutions with political ways without having impact on the public.

“We already face difficulties in living conditions. There are no rations for this month. We asked the organizations to help us. If the rations will not arrive in the IDPs camps during these days, we are going to starve. Although we stayed at the IDPs camps, we have no livelihoods. If we can earn, we can cover the living conditions,” said Kyaw Win from Kham Htaung Gyi IDP camp.

Currently, some locals from Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, are fleeing to safer places and they have worries about return back homes.
