The Basic Education Workers Union issued a statement concerning insulting teachers assigned at the polling booths will be protected according to law.

They said teachers assigned in various polling stations were attacked and these are distributed on social media. Their insults are seriously denounced and they will respond according to law. 

Zarni Htaik from Nga Pu Taw Township said that teachers are assigned at the polling stations by the Union Election Commission through the Education Department. As you know, we are attacked and insulted. We are education staff and we have to do what the superior instructed us. So, the Basic Education Workers Union will respond to personal attacks or defamation of teachers according to law. The statement will be issued again in respective townships.
