NSSA issues national-level skill certificates to over 13,000 workers

Till August since 2014, National Skill Standard Authority (NSSA) has issued national-level skill certificates to over 13,000 workers for 23 types of jobs, said Thein Swe, Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population, at the certificate-presenting ceremony held at the Construction Ministry’s Central Training School (Thuwunna) in Yangon on September 7.

At the ceremony, the national-level skill certificates were issued to 1,044 skilled workers who underwent the skill tests for 14 types of jobs in late April.

Till August since the establishment of the National Skill Standard Authority (NSSA) in 2014, it assessed the skills of 13,146 workers—9,387 males and 3,759 females—for the level-1 and-2.

The NSSA has opened 74 skill assessment centers in Yangon Region and issued the national-level skill certificates to 7,710 skilled workers for 18 types of jobs including garment, electricity, bricklaying, carpenter and air-con repairing, according to the statement by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population.
