YANGON----As part of the election campaign, the supporters of National League for Democracy (NLD) went round in procession by trishaws yesterday at various Stay-at-Home areas in Yangon Region.

They passed through downtown Yangon such as Botahtaung and Kyaukdata Townships from Pazundaung Township blasting the NLD party’s campaign songs.

“I saw the NLD supporters around 1pm on Sunday. Those supporters were on trishaws and in cars. They had gathered and paraded holding their respective party flags and playing their campaign songs. The campaign rally started from Pazudaung Township and then through Anawyahtar Street and turned into the Mahabandoola Street,” said a man from Kyuakdata Township.

There were about 200 trishaws flying NLD flags with the design for this year for canvassing votes. There also were many people on-foot that were wearing NLD campaigning shirts.

The Ministry of Health and Sports issued a directive on September 6 banning a gathering of more than 50 people in the 2020 election campaigning.
