Nimbuses are likely to form in eight states and regions including Yangon and Mandalay regions, said meteorologist Dr Tun Lwin.

Heavy rain poured down in Yangon Region on October 10 along with lightning strikes.

According to weather forecast for October 11 made by the DMH, weather is partly cloudy in Kayah State and rain and thundershowers will be isolated in Magway and Ayeyawady regions and eastern Shan State, scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Yangon and Bago regions, fairly widespread in lower Sagaing and Taninthayi regions and southern Shan State, Kayin and Mon states and widespread in the remaining regions and states with regional heavy fall in Yangon Region.

Recorded rainfalls are 4.41 inches in Yangon (Kabaraye), 4.33 inches in Yangon (downtown), 2.8 inches in Kyaikdone, 2.52 inches in Yangon (Mingaladon), 2.28 inches in Kawkareik, 2.17 inches in Mogok, 1.93 inches in Bayarthonesu, 1.85 inches in Putao, 1.69 inches in Maungdaw, 1.42 inches in Taungoo and 1.34 inches in Zaungtu respectively.

Weather is a few clouds to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and north and middle of Bay of Bengal. Dr Tun Lwin said windy condition is unstable in north of the Bay of Bengal and a low pressure area is formed over there.

Weather is partly cloudy in Kayah State and rain or thundershowers will be widespread in upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin states, fairly widespread in lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi regions, and Rakhine State, scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, Bago and Yangon regions, Shan (North and South), Kayin and Mon states and isolated in the remaining regions and states on October 12. Degree of certainty is 80%, announced the DMH.

Rain or thundershowers will be poured down in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon states for the next two days, announced the DMH.
