Myanmar has seen nearly 1.9 million people displaced by conflict and insecurities, according to UNOCHA.

Conflict and natural disasters continue to drive humanitarian needs across Myanmar, with access constraints limiting the humanitarian community’s ability to provide aid at-scale.

In Rakhine, while regular programmes have restarted, cyclone relief efforts remain suspended two months after Cyclone Mocha, UNOCHA reported.

The humanitarian community continues to advocate for expanded access to cyclone-affected people and has re-submitted the previously-approved distribution and transportation plans to the State Administration Council for reactivation.

Simultaneously, heavy fighting in multiple states and regions continues to result in fresh civilian casualties and displacement, UNOCHA added.

During the reporting period, nearly 3,000 people were newly displaced in 3 states due to intense clashes, involving airstrikes and shelling.

As of 10 July, nearly 1.9 million people remain displaced across the country, of whom almost 1.6 million have been displaced since 1 February 2021, UNOCHA said.
