Host Myanmar University team beat Thailand University team 1 to nil at the final match of the group in 19th ASEAN University Games held in Nay Pyi Taw on December 16.

Myanmar piled the pressure on the away team as they will only qualify for the final if only they beat the away team. The host team made some changes which drew with Malaysia University team. Thailand played with little effort as they already qualified for the final. The winning goal came from Nyi Nyi Aung in 39th minutes. Both teams played with attacks in the second half. Ye Min Oo from Myanmar are sent off in 55th minutes after he received two yellow cards in the game. Although Myanmar team was reduced to ten men, they managed it.

After the group matches are finished, Thailand earned nine points from four matches and Myanmar followed them with eight points from four matches. Laos and Malaysia will play for third place. The final and third places will be played on December 18. The final match will play at Wunna Theikdi Stadium.
