Myanmar is ranked 171 among 190 countries in the ease of doing business 2018, and the government therefore will be trying to improve the ranking by implementing a national investment plan, according to the Ministry of Planning and Finance.

Under the ongoing Myanmar investment plan, the country has expected to reach somewhere below 100th ranking in the ease of doing business by 2020-2021 fiscal year.

To improve doing business ranking, Myanmar needs to develop relevant economic fields such as electricity, ownership registration and trade.

According to the investment plan, the country must make strenuous efforts to improve economic and trade indexes. Meanwhile, it is necessary to remove bureaucratic system in which officers are appointed by the central level body and to reduce cost in businesses.

In the ease of doing business, China is ranked 78 with 64.28 points. There must be 72nd ranking to be on the list of top 50 countries. Thailand is ranked 46 with 72.53 points, according to the investment plan.
