Myanmar will get less rain across the period of the rainy season and see higher temperatures according to meteorologists issued by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

A video conference held on April 20th concerning natural disasters and emergency response, while working for preventing and control of COVID-19, experts discussed that the nation will see less rain and high temperatures.

“Due to less rain, it may affect the agriculture sector. On the other hand, flooding may reduce due to less rain but there may be heavy rain in some regions and as a result, there will be flash floods, landslides, and destruction of buildings. As a preparatory measure, we need to prepare things ahead,” said meteorologist Chit Kyaw.

Entire Myanmar will get higher temperature and scarcity of water will occur, difficulty in plantation may face as there will be less rain. High temperature may create strong wind and hailstones may rain, it is expected.
