Myanmar reports 594 new cases with 14 deaths on January 7

Myanmar found 594 new COVID-19 confirmed patients and 14 more have died, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the night of January 7.

 

A total of 18,953 samples were tested from January 6 at 8:00 pm to January 7 at 8:00 pm, and found new 594 new COVID-19 patients.

 

A total of 647 people were allowed to be discharged from the hospitals, bringing the total number of people free from the virus to 112,048.

 

Among the 14 deaths, 12 had underlying chronic medical conditions. Up to 2,799 patients have died from the virus, it said.

 

It said 1,940,621 samples were tested till January 7 and found 128,772 patients so far and 112,048 people were recovered from the virus with 2,799 deaths.

 

A total of 650 people, who had close contact with positive patients in Yangon Region and tested negative, are put in home quarantine, it said.
