Myanmar reports 1,744 new patients on Sept 23

Myanmar found 1,744 new COVID-19 confirmed cases on September 23 bringing total number of patients to 453,407, according to an announcement from Ministry of Health (MOH).

A total of 19,775 samples are tested between 8 pm of September 22 and 8 pm of September 23 and found 1,744 patients. 73 more people died from the virus bringing total number of death tolls to 17,343, according to a report from the ministry.

The samples were tested in labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.17 100-Bed Military Hospital in Sittwe, at private hospitals and labs and using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states.

A total of 4,188,202 samples are tested till September 23 and 1,696 people are allowed to be discharged from the hospitals bringing total number to 406,175, it said.
