Myanmar reports 1,542 new patients on Sept 29

Myanmar found 1,542 new COVID-19 confirmed cases on September 29 bringing total number of patients to 462,608, according to an announcement from Ministry of Health (MOH).

A total of 18,702 samples were tested between 8 pm of September 28 and 8 pm of September 29 and found 1,542 patients. 51 more people died from the virus bringing total number of death tolls to 17,682, according to a report from the ministry.

The samples were tested in labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.1 700-Bed Military Hospital in Pyin-Oo-Lwin, at No.9 100-Bed Military Hospital in Lashio, at private hospitals and labs and using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states.

A total of 4,299,547 samples are tested till September 29 and 1,551 people are allowed to be discharged from the hospitals bringing total number to 416,927, it said.

As of September 28, more than 3.79 million people have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and more than 4 million people have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine totaling over 11.59 million jabs, according to the MOH.
