Myanmar movie selected for Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab

A Myanmar film has been selected as one of the five movie projects for Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab.

The Myanmar movie entitled "The Women" features the difficult lifestyle, missing opportunities and rights of Myanmar women who have to work on low wages.

Of the three sections in the Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab, the first section will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on February 24. The second section will be held in Chiang Mai in November. The final section will be in November also at Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab Open House. For the programme, the movie projects from Vietnam, the Philippines and Myanmar were chosen.

The movie titled "The Women" is the second project directed by The Maw Naing. It has won three movie project awards. The scripts chosen for the Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab can be discussed with script directors. They will also have a chance to discuss international film production.
