Myanmar military chief to attend 8th Moscow Conference on International Security

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will attend the 8th Moscow Conference on International Security to be held in Russia, according to a statement by the Commander-in-Chief’s Office on April 20.

At the invitation of Defence Minister of the Russian Federation Army General Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shouigu and the Russia-Myanmar Military Technological Cooperation Committee, a Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Nay Pyi Taw Airport for Russia, on the morning of April 20.

The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing were seen off at the airport by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, Deputy Head of Mission of the Russian Embassy to Myanmar Mr. Pavel A. KLABUKOV and Military Attaché Colonel Eduard N. OKLADNIKOV and officials.

The goodwill delegation arrived in Ulan-Ude, the Russian Federation, in the evening, and they were welcomed at the airport by Managing Director of ULAN-UDE Aviation Plant Mr. AIEXEY KOZLOV, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Kyaw Soe Moe and officials.

The Senior General is accompanied by Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen Min Naing and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). During the visit, the Senior General will attend the 8th Moscow Conference on International Security, meet the Russian government and military leaders and visit factories, workshops and significant places, according to the statement.
