Myanmar migrants from Thai, BGF donate foodstuffs to flood victims

MYAWADDY-Myanmar migrants currently in Thailand, together with Border Guard Force (BGF), donated foodstuff to over 40,000 flood victims in Kyaikmayaw Township, Mon State, on August 13th and 14th.

Under the sponsorship of Col. Saw Chit Thu, General Secretary from BGF in Kayin State, a team led by Ye Min from Thai based Aid Alliance Committee (AAC) and Major Naing Maung Zaw from Central Control Department in BGF arrived in 8 flood-hit villages in Kyaikmayaw Township, in the morning of August 13th and supplied foodstuffs.

“Totaling 12 vehicles carrying foodstuffs being donated by Myanmar migrants from Thailand and BGF donated the foodstuffs to the 8 flood-hit villages in Kyaikmayaw Township. Likewise, Thai entrepreneurs donated in Myawaddy Township. Col. Khin Maung Win from BGF received the donations. We are going to provide aids to other flood-hit areas,” said Ye Min from AAC

In Kyaikmayaw Township, about 8 villages are being submerged and the floods affected over 6,000 populations from nearly 800 households.

Now, totaling 46,438 flood victims are taking shelter in the flood relief camps.
