Myanmar Embassy in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia, issued a statement on January 4, urging Myanmar expats in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman to remain vigilant about the regional situations due to the current affairs in Iraq.

In the statement, the regional situations are worrying due to the recent affairs in Iraq. Myanmar expats are urged to abide by the laws and stay in accordance with the rules and regulations of relevant countries.

Powerful Iranian military leader General Qassem Soleimani died due to the US’s airstrike at Baghdad International Airport on January 3. Iran has vowed harsh retaliation against the US over the killing. Tensions between the US and Iran have intensified.
