Myanmar earns over US$4.7 billion from foreign trade in two months of 2018-19 FY

Myanmar earned over US$4.7 billion from foreign trade in two months of 2018-19 FY and trade deficit is at over US$0.5 billion in that period, according to Ministry of Commerce.

It earned over US$4.3 billion from foreign trade in the same period during the previous fiscal year.

Myanmar earned US$2.113 billion from exports and US$2.627 billion from imports, also in that period.

Myanmar earned about US$18.4 billion from foreign trade in the mini-budget period from April to September in this year and it is over US$2 billion in compared with the same period in last fiscal year, according to the ministry.

Myanmar exported US$8.8 billion worth of products in that period and it exported about US$1.3 billion more in compared with the same period in last fiscal year.

Myanmar exported US$298 million worth of fishery products in that period and it exported about US$7 billion more in compared with the same period in last fiscal year.

Myanmar imported US$9.8 billion worth of products in that period and it imported about US$0.7 billion more in compared with the same period in last fiscal year.

Myanmar imported more construction materials, petroleum products, machine and machinery, raw materials and fertilizers in this fiscal year.

The Ministry of Commerce is planning national export strategies to increase export products, ease rules and regulations, support private sector, urge to manufacture value-added products and to expand market for entrepreneurs by granting tax exemption.
