Myanmar, China discuss about tranquility in northern Myanmar

NAYPYITAW-Myanmar and China had discussed peace, tranquility and development of border area in northern Myanmar, according to the announcement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs released yesterday.

A high-ranking officers level meeting led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence Services from Myanmar and China was held in Green Lake Hotel, Kumming, Yunnan Province, Republic of China, on December 18th.

It was attended by Union Minister of International Cooperation Kyaw Tin, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung from the Ministry of Defence, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou, and Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission member Lt-Gen Shao Yuanming.

Both sides discussed about providing of aid from China for Myanmar’s peace process, stability in regions for both sides, building of trust between the two countries, regional developments in border areas, combating of drugs, human trafficking and illegal trade.
