Over 230,000 tons of fuel has been allowed to be imported this month, according to the Supervisory Committee of Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil.

The committee has drafted and developed "Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)" and submitted the fuel imports to the Foreign Expenditure Supervisory Committee meeting. In September, the imports of 80,499 tons of gasoline and 153,095.60 tons of diesel were approved, totaling 233,594.60 tons of fuel.

In addition to having enough domestic fuel, MT Yu Dong is loading 51.17 million gallons of diesel and 60.39 million gallons of premium diesel and MT Yu Hai is loading 42.33 million gallons of 92 Ron and 92.25 million gallons of diesel at the terminals in Thilawa Port of Yangon Region.

As the business supervision committee publishes the reference prices of fuel oil daily based on the MOPS price published daily by Singapore keeps the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Myanmar, premium, underestimate, profit percentage and transport charges. Fuel prices fell during the week, but due to the increase in MOPS prices, fuel prices rose slightly again today.

As the business supervision committee, in cooperation with the Myanmar Fuel Import, Sales and Distribution Association, fuel are distributed based on fuel balance for townships in regions and states. However, in the process of distributing fuel to some townships, armed terrorist groups are attacking and robbing fuel bowsers and fuel tankers, so the fuel does not reach the respective fuel stations on time and is delayed, according to the statement.

In order to meet the fuel needs of some regions and states, the import of fuel from the border areas is being supervised and verified with the recommendations of the relevant state government.

Major General Zaw Min Tun, Deputy Minister for Information and the leader of the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC) said that the fuel oil imported from Russia will arrive in the next few days at a press conference held in Nay Pyi Taw on September 20.

"We are concerned about the fuel that will arrive in Russia, I will talk about the distribution part that I just mentioned. In terms of distribution, priority will be distributed to public transportation. Then we have a delay in their journey regarding these fuels. After coming out of Russia, the fuel tankers are already on their way," Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said at a press conference held on August 17 that Myanmar will get all the fuel it needs from Russia and the two countries will continue to cooperate with each other in oil exploration and exploration.

Major General Zaw Min Tun said, “As for the arrival date, we can only answer that it will arrive in the next few days. We have not yet been able to answer exactly when it will arrive.”

The matter of purchasing fuel from Russia and distributing it domestically was finalized during a visit to Russia by the SAC’s Chairman and the final agreement was reached, said Major General Zaw Min Tun at a press conference held on August 17.
