The Myanmar Press Council (MPC) yesterday released the list of websites and social media pages which stole and published the news, novels, articles, photos and illustrations owned by official media.

Chair of Myanmar Press Council Ohn Kyaing said: “We declared that they are not official. The people are urged not to trust their news coverage. The committee will continue doing it.”

The MPC released the list after a thorough scrutiny of them. The MPC will continue to release the list of similar websites and social media pages.

Even some websites and social media pages included in the list have own applications. They are assumed to have the teams to operate. Pho Thu Taw  and Shwe Mon have own applications.

Websites and social media pages included in the list are: Pho Thu Taw, Dagaung, Myanmar Daily Feed, Myanma ThadinU Thadin Htto, Myanma Thadinsone, ZeeKwat, Shwe Wiki, Shwe Mon, Yuyalay, ApannPyay, ACHIT LWIN PYIN, Lwin Pyin, Hlatawthar Htataw.com, Tolimoli company, Thadinhtoo, Thamilay Phatpho Knowledge, Myanmar Breaking News, Myanmar Live, Tawthu, Apyo Lay (Phyityathman Thadinhtoo), Nanmalgyi, Focus Myanmar- Latest Updates in Myanmar, Lat Khat Than, Burmese.asia Media News & Entertainment, Thutastar, Daily Feed, Myanmar News Plus, News Daily Time, the Life Style Myanmar, Beautiful Myanmar and OK Thadinsone.

At the third four pillars workshop on media development held at the Ministry of Information, the MPC reached a 13-point agreement.

The No.10 out of the 30-point agreement says: “The news media and relevant organizations are to expose and publish the coverage and spreads of fake and erroneous news.”

The MPC scrutinized the list of websites and social media pages sent by the monitoring team and inspected whether they have copyrights and registration or not.
