More visitors tour Naungcho and its environs

People are taking more interest in the Goteik Viaduct, a railway treste, that has been built for the last 100 years and surrounding natural environs of Naungcho in northern Shan State.

The Goteik Bridge was constructed in 1899 by the Pennsylvania and Maryland Bridge Construction Company and opened in 1900.

The bridge is located between Pyin Oo Lwin, the summertime capital of former British Colonial administrators of Myanmar and Lashio, the principal town of northern Shan State. It is the highest bridge built in Myanmar.

In the areas surrounding Naungcho, there is the Gokteik viaduct, Ban Bway Kyin Waterfall for those love trekking and adventure, Inwai waterfall, Yay Pyan TaunG Waterfall, Linnoe Cave, Kyauk Kyan cave, Seikphu Hot Spring, and the Dothtawaddy River flowing underneath Gokteik viaduct.

Another attraction in Naungcho is Tain Pin Lei aka the sea of clouds at Naung Cho Gyi village in Naungcho Township.It is a trip at offers scenic viewing pleasure of the Dothtawaddy River from 3000 feet above. Viewers are able to see the cloudy sky from dawn to 10:00 am.

"People are getting more and more aware of this place since 3 months ago. Now,  it is crowded on some days. Some came here riding bicycles. Normally, the road is very steep and rough that it can be climbed using  Trawlergi. Currently, we are trying to discipline visitors to not litter indiscriminately," said a local from Naung Cho Gyi village.
