Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) is planning to use the kind of ATR 72-600 planes in its fleet only, sources said.

A new ATR aircraft rented by the Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) arrived in Yangon International Airport (YIA) on November 6. It is the latest planes of its kind.

“We have ATR 72-600 and ATR 72-500 planes currently flying in our airlines. So our pilots are flying two kinds of planes. It will be convenience for them if they fly the only kind of planes. Maintenance will be easier too. So our airlines will be used the kind of ATR 72-600 planes in its fleet only,” said Chief Executive Officer Than Tun of the airline.

The MNA hold a welcome ceremony of the new ATR 72-600 plane at its hangar at the YIA on November 6. It is the seventh of ATR 72-600 series planes for the airline and it will be added to its fleet to run domestic and overseas flights soon.

The state owned MNA is planned to sell ATR 72-500 planes, which are currently using, in the future.
