Ministry of Health and Sports is planning to build more staff housings in 2019, sources said.

At the present, the ministry is building over 830 staff housings in 2018-19 FY for the government employees under the ministry. There are 2,254 apartments from 195 staff housings for government staffs under the Department of Public Health and Medical Services, 2,428 apartments from 460 staff housings for government staffs under the Department of Public Health, 212 apartments from nine staff housings for government staffs under the Department of Human Resources for Health, 32 apartments from three staff housings for government staffs under the Department of Medical Research and 528 apartments from 44 staff housings for government staffs under the Department of Food and Drug Administration and 523 apartments from 123 staff housings for government staffs under the Department of Sports and Physical Education.

“The ministry is planning to build about 6,000 apartments for government staffs under the ministry. The staffs under the Department of Medical Research are not included in the list in previous mini-budget period so we included them in the list in this fiscal year,” said an official from the ministry.

At the present, the ministry is doing to promote health education, health in school, to modernize guidelines and instructions and remove the unnecessary facts, to have a good relation between patients and their family members and healthcare staffs, to open people based healthcare clinics to prevent non-infectious diseases, to open mobile clinics with healthcare staffs and to appoint supervisors for education teams in states and regions. The ministry is carrying out to specify as year of data and information, year of budget and year of staff housing for 2018.

The ministry is temporarily suspended to build new hospitals and clinics and emphasized on repairing hospitals and clinics. The construction funds allocated by the state are for staff housings in every state and region.

The ministry is implementing to build new staff housings to reduce the rental charges paid by the government employees and to have secure and close relationship between government employees in staff housing.
