Mine attack occurred on the Yangon-Mandalay Railway near the bridge No. (116/A) between DaikU Station and Pyuntaza Station on the morning of November 14, and about three feet of the concrete footing at the end of the bridge was damaged due to the explosion, according to the press release of the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC).

As the investigation continued, three hand-made mines were found between the two tracks on the bridge and four hand-made mines were found under the bridge, which were placed with plastic boxes, and they were defused and stored, it said.

Regional officials and security forces inspected the area and railway workers also carried out repairs on the damaged railway. Train traffic continued to be sent from the undamaged downstream route, it said.

From February 1, 2021 until now, there have been 128 mine attacks in the area of railways and train stations, 46 times of mine attacks on railroads and 12 arson attacks on the station building and staff housings in the entire Myanmar railway network, according to the SAC.
