Mandalay residents feel 4.8-magnitude earthquake in TadaU

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck TadaU in Mandalay Region, with Mandalay residents reportedly feeling the tremors strongly, according to sources.

The quake struck at around 7 am. on July 3, and was felt significantly, according to a Mandalay resident.

"I heard a loud bang. It was quite noticeable. The earthquake didn't last long. But everyone had to run," said a Mandalay resident.

"People in Mandalay are also traumatized by the earthquakes. Even children are scared and running. Today's earthquake is like the earthquake that hit on March 28," a Mandalay resident wrote on social media.

The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers and was centered about 5 miles northwest of TadaU town, according to Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

The earthquake marked the 198th aftershock of the major quake.
