Mandalay City Development Committee will build numerous public toilets around the Mandalay moat and in other necessary areas. 

The construction of public toilets in Mandalay city will be financed from committee budget and by the donors. So far, Public toilets have been built in five places. 

"We are planning to repair the public toilets in the Zaygyo Market area and build new ones in other necessary places line near Maha Aungmyay Gems Center. A public toilet is being built in the west of the moat with the donation from Myanmar Hoteliers Association (Mandalay Zone). We also have a donor for one more in the north of the moat. We will also build such public toilets in other necessary places like Manawraman sports ground," said Kyaw Hsan Myint, member of MCDC. 

Of the advanced public toilets built in Mandalay city, the one in the southern part of the moat received Asean Public Toilet Awards 2019-2021 presented by ASEAN.
