A person under suspicion of COVID-19 from Ottarathiri Township was sent to the 1000-bed Nay Pyi Taw Hospital on March 18 for further tests.
The man under investigation of the coronavirus is over 87 years old and his son had returned from Thailand, according to an initial investigation.
Dr Khin Khin Gyi, deputy director of the Central infectious Disease Control division, has also confirmed the case.
The case was also reported to Nay Pyi Taw Council and the Ministry of Health and Sports, said Dr Aung Lin Aye from Nay Pyi Taw Hospital.
When asked about the case, Dr Khin Khin Gyi said: “We have the same procedure. He is hospitalized. He is placed in isolation. We gave him the necessary treatments. His samples were taken and sent to the National Health Laboratory. NHL will test.”
The elderly man was sent to the hospital after having symptoms of coughing and tiredness. Currently, the patient is in good condition.
