Man dies of heatstroke in Bago

A man has died of heatstroke at Bago People's Hospital in Bago Region, according to hospital sources.  

The 38-year old man and a 12-year-old student arrived at the hospital on April 20. And then the man died soon after he arrived.

"The man was transferred from Phayagyi hospital. He died soon of heatstroke. It was caused by intense heat. The man had a temperature of about 108 degree Fahrenheit while the child had about 106. The child is from Waw Township. He is receiving medical treatment. The child suffered heatstroke after playing in the sun. The symptoms are dried skin, heavy sweat, unconsciousness, headache and unconsciousness. Sufferers need to rush to hospital or clinic. To avoid heatstroke, we must stay away from direct sunshine, intense heat and must stay under shady trees. Fans are also necessary if it is too hot. Patients must drink dehydrated water. They must be treated with cool water. They should be moved to cooler places," said Dr Yan Naing Maung, medical superintendent of Bago People's Hospital.

Bago People's Hospital is being crowded with patients who have a fever.
