Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is planning to buy four Airbus A320 and two Embraer 190 planes to fly domestic flights by cooperating with Air KBZ, said its Chief Operating Officer Kyaw Han.

“The airline is planning to buy two Embraer 190 planes in 2020 and four more Airbus A320 planes will arrive. We are providing training for pilots and crews. Our airline will fly domestic flights in July,” said Kyaw Han.

Airbus A319-100 plane bought by the MAI arrived in Yangon International Airport on December 26 and it was flown in from Phoenix, United States.

The MAI now has five A319 planes and one A320 in its fleet and has planned to add more planes to its fleet to run more overseas flights.

The airline is running from Yangon to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou and Kolkata using the six Airbus planes.

“The airline bought more planes to reinforce the international flight schedules,” said an official of the airline.

The MAI is running regular flights to South Korea, four times a week, by cooperating with Meebang Air Agencies starting from December 5.

Based at Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, the MAI is providing regular flight services to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou, Gaya and Kolkata and chartered flight service to China.
