Prices of cars with low models as well as passenger buses in Yangon city have increased a little in the local market, according to automobile dealers.

Since early January, the price of a low-model car with a 1300cc engine has increased by Ks1.5 million to Ks2 million.

Prices have increased a little. For example, the price of a Toyota Vitz with a higher letter on the license plate was previously just about Ks13 million. The price is now Ks16 million, said a local car dealer.

Despite increasing prices, the auto sale market is dull, and only low models are being traded.

Prices have increased a little. But, only fuel-efficient cars are being sold and bought, said another car dealer in Yangon.

Moreover, prices of passenger buses from Yangon bus lines have increased a little, according to local market sources.

Previously, an age-old bus was worth just about Ks15 million. But now, the price has increased to about Ks17 million. One at a price of Ks23 million has increased to Ks15 million, said a bus owner in Yangon.

As YBS bus lines could not operate well, those buses are usually sold and bought only between one owner and another, he added.

In the local auto market, a Toyota Probox taxi is priced at up to Ks18 million. Meanwhile, prices of private cars have increased by around Ks2 million.
