A new resort will be opened on an island in Ayeyawady River in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, said MP Moe Kyaw Thu of No.1 Shwebo Constituency.

Locals have named it “Shwe Kyun Thar”, located near Saepin Village on the river. The intention to open the resort is to provide knowledge of how the scouts are giving trainings, he said.

“It will open on December 31. We planned it to have a fund for scouts from the villages in the area,” said the MP.

The scouts can provide information to authorities in time during a disaster. The resort will be funded with financial aid from locals. They don’t ask for fund from the regional government, he added.

They will charge from the visitors and the money will be used in the development of the village, education and health sectors. The resort has five-acre in space, he continued.
