Local investors put in Ks17.856 trillion worth of investment including about US$10 billion within 30-year time starting from 1988-89 FY and over 23 per cent of them are made in housing development sector, according to Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration (DICA).

Local investors put in Ks4,164 billion worth of investment including US$1.244 billion in housing development sector by the end of October 2018.

The second biggest investment is made in production sector and locals invested Ks3,092 billion worth of investment including US$2.648 billion.

The third biggest investment is made in transportation and communications sector and locals invested Ks2,851 billion worth of investment including US$2.256 billion.

The other biggest investments are as per following: Ks2,920 billion worth of investment including US$1.69 billion in other sector, Ks1,862 billion worth of investment including US$0.769 billion in hotel and tourism sector, Ks1,075 billion worth of investment including US$0.506 billion in construction sector, Ks862 billion worth of investment including US$86 million in industrial zone sector, Ks646 billion worth of investment including US$464 million in energy sector, Ks173 billion worth of investment including US$120 million in mining sector, Ks153 billion worth of investment including US$142 million in livestock breeding sector and Ks51 billion worth of investment including US$52 million in farming sector respectively.

The MIC allowed Ks241 billion worth of investment including US$89 million for 29 local investments from October 1 to November 16 in this fiscal year, it said.

Six businesses are allowed in the MIC’s weekly meeting 19/2018. Yangon Region investment committee allowed two investments and Sagaing Region investment committee allowed one investment. Meanwhile Kachin State investment committee allowed two investments. The total investments are Ks170 billion including US$81 million.
